Here's hoping Alex Gordon has enough room in his house for yet another Gold Glove.
The Lincoln native and Kansas City Royals outfielder won his sixth award Sunday night. His teammate, Salvador Perez, won his fifth Gold Glove at catcher.
"I’m honored to win the Rawlings Gold Glove this year and excited to share this award with Salvy," Gordon said in a statement. "I’m happy to share this award with my coaches, teammates and the Royals."
Gordon, 34, beat out the Yankees' Brett Gardner and the Red Sox's Andrew Benintendi for the left-field honor.
The Lincoln Southeast graduate and ex-Husker compiled a 1.0 defensive WAR (wins above replacement) in 2018, his best number in the category since 2014.
Gordon won four straight Gold Gloves from 2011-14.
Gordon, who began his professional career at third base, had nine assists and committed only two errors this season.
