The Class C-1 No. 2 Lincoln Lutheran volleyball team put on a strong showing at the Seward Invite Saturday, with wins over Wayne, Omaha Mercy and Seward before falling to Class B No. 3 Omaha Duchesne 25-22, 27-25 in the final.
Marriah Buss racked up 76 kills on the day and hit .447. Erin Williams finished the day with 45 digs, and Lexie Kriezel had 38.
Omaha Skutt Invite: The Lincoln Pius X boys finished first out of eight teams in Omaha. Mason Warner won No. 1 singles with an 8-5 victory in the medal round, and Will Ulrich took first in No. 2 singles. Joe Plachy and Will Olson won No. 1 doubles.
Bellevue West Invite: Lincoln North Star took home the team title, behind the individual title from Noah Hudson in No. 2 singles.
The Navigators advanced to four final matches, but Hudson was the only one to convert.
"Our depth was what kind of won us the tournament today. This was a tournament we thought we could win coming in," said Nate Renter.
