Johnson-Brock vs. Falls City Sacred Heart, 3.08

Johnson-Brock's Ty Hahn (23) drives to the hoop against Falls City Sacred Heart's Jarrot Simon (35) in a Class D-2 semifinal at the boys state tournament Friday at the Devaney Sports Center.

A hamstring injury has ended Ty Hahn’s quest for the triple crown.

The Johnson-Brock junior pulled his hamstring in the 100-meter dash preliminaries at the D-1 district meet Friday at Pawnee City. Hahn, an all-stater on both the Eagles’ Class D-2 state title football and basketball teams, had Class D’s fastest times this spring in both the 100 (10.90 seconds) and the 200 (:22.17) heading into districts. He’s the defending Class D 200 state champion.

The wide receiver/defensive back has picked up a number of Division I football scholarship offers this spring, including one from Wyoming.

“He originally injured it (the hamstring) at the Nebraska Track Festival (April 18), and we thought he would be fine today,” Johnson-Brock track coach Ben Ideus said. “We’ve been doing physical therapy and taking it easy with him, but he re-injured it right out of the blocks (in the 100).”
