C-1 District Track, 5/10/18

Lincoln Lutheran's Colton Meyer wins the boys 300-meter hurdles during the C-1 district meet in May 2018 at Johnson County Central High School in Tecumseh.

Lincoln Lutheran's Josie Puelz and Colton Meyer reeled in multiple track and field gold medals at Tuesday's Dan Tesar/Tri County Invitational.

Puelz, a defending state pole vault champion, won the pole vault with a meet-record mark of 12 feet. She swept the hurdle events and anchored the Warriors' 400-meter relay.

Meyer swept the hurdle events and was part of two relay wins. He set a meet record in the 300 hurdles (38.8 seconds) and the 1,600 relay team also set a meet record.

Here is more on the two Warriors:

Josie Puelz

School: Lincoln Lutheran.

Year: Senior.

Spring sport: Track and field.

Other sports: Volleyball and basketball.

Favorite high school sports memory so far: "This is kind of an ongoing thing with track, but this year it has been especially memorable. For the boys' 4x400 relay, almost our entire team goes to the last 150-meter mark. All the guys are seniors this year, so they’re classmates I’ve had for almost six years. This year at the Tri County meet they got a personal best and the school record. Immediately when Jacob Meyer got to the last 50 meters and we saw they’d make the time, we all started sprinting down to the other end of the field at the finish line to congratulate the guys. This was special, because the sense of community and pride we have watching our fellow senior classmates run is so unique."

Favorite track event: Pole vault.

Three go-to apps: Apple Music, Instagram and Netflix.

Pre-meet rituals or superstitions: "I don’t really have any pre-meet rituals or superstitions, but our 4x100 relay always prays together before we start our race."

Favorite post-meet snack or meal: "Once I finish my last event I drink Body Armor Blackout Berry and eat a turkey sandwich."

Colton Meyer

Favorite high school sports memory so far: "Going to state last year with our 4x400 team. Loved every second of it and hoping to experience that again with the team this year."

Favorite track event: 300 hurdles.

Three go-to apps: YouTube, Twitter and Golf Blitz.

Any pre-meet rituals or superstitions: "Always have to wear a new pair of socks."
