A look at returning state track and field champions from across the state

Lincoln East's Jenna Muma (right) has won the past two Class A girls 1,600-meter titles, but last spring's COVID-19 cancellation of high school track season cost the Spartan senior a chance to be a four-time gold medalist in that event.

We know, it's been awhile. Here's a refresher on gold medalists from around the area and state that return this season.

Boys

Class A

High jump—Reid Nelson, Elkhorn South; long jump—Reid Nelson, Elkhorn South.

Class D

200—Jackson McIntyre, Central Valley.

Girls

Class A

100—Kate Dilsaver, Lincoln Southwest; 200—Kate Dilsaver, Lincoln Southwest; Lauren Harris, Omaha Marian (’18); 400—Lauren Harris, Omaha Marian (’18, ’19); 1,600—Jenna Muma, Lincoln East (’18, ’19); 3,200—Elli Dahl, Fremont; high jump—Norah Sis, Papillion-La Vista (’18); long jump—Nebtom N’Da, Bellevue East; triple jump—Sunday Thiyang, Papillion-La Vista South.

Class B

1,600—Ellie Wilkinson, Syracuse (’18); Brynn Hirschfeld, York; 3,200—Ellie Wilkinson, Syracuse (’18); high jump—Jessica Moss, Syracuse.

Class C

3,200—Ashlei McDonald, Johnson County Central; high jump—Ally Pojar, North Bend Central; triple jump—Renee Brummels, Battle Creek.

Class D

400—Allison Weidner, Humphrey St. Francis (’18, ’19); 800—Allison Weidner, Humphrey St. Francis (’18, ’19); high jump—Hunter Wiebelhaus, North Central.
