Lincoln Southwest's Emma Kauf carries the championship trophy following the Class A state softball final on Saturday at Smith Softball Complex in Hastings.

Lincoln Southwest's Emma Kauf was named to the All-USA Today high school softball second team Tuesday.

Kauf, who just finished her senior year at the school, hit .570 with 22 homers, 60 RBIs and 81 runs scored in helping lead the Silver Hawks to a Class A state championship. Kauf was named the Journal Star's Super-State honorary captain and the Nebraska Gatorade player of the year.

The Georgia Tech recruit was the lone player from Nebraska to make the first, second or third teams. Nebraska softball recruit Kaylin Kinney, a junior from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was named to the All-USA Today third team.
