Lincoln Northeast has a new head softball coach.
The Rockets named Beth Singleton, who spent the past three years as an assistant coach for Midland University, as its new softball coach Thursday.
Singleton comes to Northeast with 15 years combined coaching experience at the high school, club and college levels. Prior to her time with the Warriors, she was an assistant at Lincoln East, Lincoln North Star and Malcolm high schools.
"Beth’s knowledge, passion and enthusiasm for working with students, and coaching softball, are very evident," Northeast Athletic Director Clayton Heath said in a statement. "Northeast is very excited to have such a quality coach and person as its next head softball coach."
Singleton takes over for Alissa Cookston, who served as head coach since 2017. Cookston replaced longtime coach Kari Amen, who spent 21 years in the position.
