4. Crete (10-2) | 4

5. Columbus (10-3) | 5

Comments: South Sioux City moves back into the No. 1 spot after defeating Omaha Skutt 2-1 in overtime in the championship match of the River Cities Conference Tournament last week. All four losses for South Sioux City are against Class A teams. This has been a competitive class, and a few good teams may not make it to the district final round on Saturday if they don’t win their subdistrict. The winning team in each subdistrict will qualify for the district final round, and eight additional teams will also qualify based on wild-card points.

Tough subdistricts: B-3 at South Sioux City (South Sioux City, Blair, Mount Michael); B-5 in Columbus (Columbus, Columbus Scotus).

But Millard West stays No. 1 based on its previous 3-0 win against No. 2 Omaha Marian. Lincoln Southeast goes into districts with a four-match winning streak and is the Lincoln Public Schools champion based on its 5-0 record against the other LPS teams. Kearney has some good wins against Lincoln Southeast and Lincoln East and moves back into the ratings.
