Lincoln High's Cassidy Kruse scored twice and goalkeeper Mackenzie Smith kept Norfolk quiet in the Links' 2-1 girls soccer win Tuesday at Norfolk.
It addition to being the Links' third win of the season, it also was Lincoln High's first victory over the Panthers since April 2005. It marked another end to a Lincoln High drought; earlier this season, the Links (3-3) defeated Lincoln Northeast 2-0 for their first win over the Rockets since 2014.
Kruse scored in the first half and added a penalty kick in the second half to lead Lincoln High's offense.
Lincoln North Star 7, Lincoln Northeast 0: North Star's goals were scored by Lexi Thompson (2), Marissa Stratton, Madison Garrow, Madison Hurst, Kyler Hahn and Kamrin Feely. Megan Messersmith was the winning goalkeeper and made three saves.
Lincoln Southwest 10, Lincoln North Star 8: North Star outhit Southwest 14-9, but Southwest scored five first-inning runs to build a lead it never relinquished. The Silver Hawks' Treyton Randall went 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBIs and two runs scored, and Brock Merkel added two hits. Gavyn Leitschuck went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs for North Star.
