Lincoln Pius X took care of business in the third quarter en route to a convincing 65-51 victory over North Platte on Saturday at Bishop Flavin Gym. The Class B No. 1 Thunderbolts led 32-30 at halftime.
Pius X then outscored North Platte 25-2 in the third quarter to seal the victory. Charlie Easley finished with 16 points and Austin Jablonski scored 13 points for the Bolts. Kiya Kramer tallied 14 points for North Platte.
Papillion-La Vista 56, Lincoln Northeast 54: The Rockets led the Monarchs 45-44 going into the fourth quarter. Papillion-La Vista outscored Northeast 22-19 in the final frame to steal a two-point, comeback win. The Monarchs were led by Owen McLaughlin's 16 points and got 14 points from Kyle Ingwerson. Jake Bard scored 15 points with two three-pointers to lead the Rockets.
Elkhorn South 65, Lincoln Southwest 60: Zach LaFave powered the Storm's offense with 28 points, including four three-pointers 6-of-7 at the free-throw line. Jace Piatkowski added 15 points for Elkhorn South. Caden McCormack finished with 11 points to lead the Silver Hawks. Cam Frederick and TaeVyn Grixby each scored 10 points, all in the second half.
Centennial 67, Central City 41: Centennial tied a school record by making 13 three-pointers in a game. Jake Bargen led Centennial with 14 points and four three-pointers.
Lincoln Pius X 63, North Platte 30: The No. 6 Thunderbolts rolled past North Platte after leading 30-9 at halftime. Kloee Sander scored a game-high 18 points for Pius X and Alexis Markowski finished with 16 points. The two combined to make 15 of the Bolts' 27 made shots. Gracie Haneborg scored nine points for North Platte, all in the second half.
Lincoln Southeast 50, Omaha Marian 34: The Knights went to Claire Strong inside often and the Crusaders never had an answer. The senior scored 10 of her game-high 23 points in the first quarter to put the Crusaders in a hole they could never recover from. Cassie Nash had 15 points for Southeast.
Lincoln Southwest 36, Elkhorn South 34: A game-winning layup and free throw for Jaden Ferguson capped a 6-0 run by No. 9 Lincoln Southwest for a come-from-behind win at Elkhorn South. Ferguson led all scorers with 15 points and Raegen Wells finished with 10. Lily Ziemkiewicz had eight points and five steals for the Storm.
