A pair of top-five finishes in the individual standings lifted the Lincoln Christian boys golf team to a one-stroke victory in the C-1 district Tuesday at Woodland Hills Golf Course near Eagle.
Lincoln Lutheran junior Kyle Luebbe took top individual honors after shooting a 77 to win by two strokes.
Lincoln Christian's Hunter Hohlen (83) finished third and Tyler Ailes (86) was fifth. Johnson County Central's Eli Waring (79) was second and Tyler Bartels (83) finished fourth.
The Crusaders edged Johnson County Central 353-354 for the team title. Both teams will advance to next week's Class C state tournament in Kearney, as will Lincoln Lutheran. The Warriors shot a 360 to finish third.
"We have a really competive group and five boys that are close in score range," Christian coach Dave McEwen said. "We hope to have a strong finish to the season and see how it plays out."
