Waverly vs. Seward football, 9.2.16

Waverly head coach Tim Williams yells directions to the team during the second quarter on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at Concordia University.

Papillion-La Vista has named Waverly’s Tim Williams as its next head football coach. Monarchs athletic director Jason Ryan announced the hire in a press release on Monday.

Williams has been the Vikings’ head coach the past five seasons, leading them to four Class B state playoff appearances during that span and a semifinal finish in 2018 when Waverly went 9-3.

Williams was a varsity assistant at both Omaha Bryan and Millard South prior to his stint at Waverly.

“We were very impressed with his experiences in Class A, the Metro Conference and his proven track record as a head coach,” Ryan said about Williams, who will teach social studies at Papillion-La Vista. “We are excited about the future of Monarch football under Tim’s leadership.”
