Scottsbluff is heading to the Class B state championship for the first time since 2000.
Keegan Reifschneider made sure of that.
The senior defensive back picked off two passes in the fourth quarter — one setting up the go-ahead touchdown and the second nixing a York rally — of a 27-21 win Friday in the Class B semifinals in Scottsbluff.
The Bearcats were unable to gain traction on offense, so they turned to their defense, which forced six Duke turnovers.
Reifschneider's first interception, returned to inside the York 10-yard line, came with 7 minutes, 43 seconds remaining. It set up Christopher Busby's 6-yard spin and score, which gave Scottsbluff a 27-21 lead with 6:07 remaining.
York, the defending Class B state champion, then tried to rally twice. But Reifschneider picked off another Garrett Snodgrass pass. After the Dukes got the ball back, Jeremiah Delzer intercepted another York pass with 38 seconds left.
Reifschneider's first pick came after Scottsbluff pulled to within 21-19 on a touchdown run by Sabastian Harsh in what was an eventful fourth quarter.
York took a 21-12 lead on Jeb Lucas' 71-yard catch and run for a score with 10:57 remaining.
Snodgrass' 57-yard pass to Lucas in the first half set up the Dukes' first touchdown of the game.
Scottsbluff took a 6-0 lead late in the first half when Harsh intercepted a pass in the end zone on a York screen attempt.
York finished with 313 total yards. Scottsbluff had 239.
