Senior running back Lane Edis led No. 5 Mullen in a comeback effort as the Broncos downed No. 10 Lawrence-Nelson 36-24 Monday in the D-2 semifinals in Lawrence.
The Raiders held a 24-6 halftime lead, before the Broncos scored 30 unanswered points, in large part to Edis' second half effort and 307 total rushing yards.
"The one thing I just told the kids is I don't care what the score is at halftime," Mullen coach Mitch Pfeiffer said. "I know what this team is capable of, and they went out there and got the job done."
Edis finished with touchdown runs of 37, 52 and 31 yards in the second half to lead the comeback effort and added a 24-yard score in the first half.

Lawrence-Nelson was led by Lane Heikkinen, who ran 24 times for 109 yards and two first-half rushing touchdowns and added a receiving touchdown.
Mullen moves on to face top-ranked Johnson-Brock in Lincoln at Memorial Stadium next Monday at 10:15 a.m. after the Eagles defeated No. 4 Humphrey Saint Francis 58-44.
"I've gotta sit down and take a look at what we are up against," Pfeiffer added. "I'm sure it will be a tremendous challenge, but we are on to the championship and we will give it our best shot."
