The Lincoln North Star girls basketball team completed a comeback to topple Class A No. 1 Papillion-La Vista 53-48 on Friday at North Star. The Navigators fell behind 19-5 after the first quarter, but outscored the Monarchs 14-1 in the second quarter.
"We said before the game that this can be the game where we can put it all together and come out on top," North Star coach Ellen Jorgenson said.
"We have a lot of different things going for us on this young team, and this is a step in the right direction."
Bekka Allick scored 26 points, including 10-of-12 from the free-throw line to lead North Star (7-10). Allick hit six free throws in the fourth quarter.
"She (Allick) should be dominant in there, and she really was tonight," Jorgenson said. "We've been pushing post entry all season, and it worked tonight."
Lindsey Ingwerson finished with 15 points for Papio (17-3), which suffered its second straight loss.
Fremont 74, Lincoln High 28: No. 4 Fremont rolled past Lincoln High, outscoring the Links 43-8 in the second half. The Tigers made 14 three-pointers, and Sydney Golladay led the way with 21 points. Taylor McCabe added 16, and Tessa Chicoine scored 12. Nyayongah Gony finished with 14 points for Lincoln High.
Lincoln East 79, Omaha Burke 35: No. 9 East put up 48 points in the first half and outrebounded the Bulldogs 41-18, adding 17 second-chance points. Haley Petersen shot 7-of-10 from the field to lead the Spartans with 16 points, and Charlotte Bovaird added 15.
Brownell Talbot 55, Parkview Christian 23: Josie Petrulis had 19 points for Brownell Talbot, Cecan Porter had 18, and Eliza Rice finished with 10 points and 15 rebounds. Callie Fulks and Abby Anderson each scored eight points for the Patriots.

Lincoln East 61, Omaha Burke 53: Wes Dreamer led the Spartan charge with 25 points. Dreamer also grabbed nine rebounds for Lincoln East. Peyton Stoppel chipped in 10 points and Jett Janssen tallied nine points and 12 rebounds. Phillip Cude score 11 points to lead Omaha Burke with Jon Rienke scoring eight and Xavier Watts finishing with seven points.
Lincoln High 62, Fremont 35: Keyshawn Jenkins dropped 17 points in a 27-point victory for the Links. Jaden Horton contributed eight points for Lincoln High.
Lincoln North Star 66, Papillion-La Vista 42: Josiah Allick led the way for the Gators with 26 points and 15 rebounds. The 6-7 senior had three dunks and made 12 of 13 free throws. Donovan Williams and Jared Lopez each had 10 points.
Brownell Talbot 73, Parkview Christian 52: Brownell Talbot scored 50 points in the second half to pull away from the Patriots.
Adams Central Invite: Lincoln North Star's Easton Waller improved to 33-8 with a pinfall victory over Holdrege's Imanol Munoz in the 195-pound final. Waller won all three of his matches by pinfall.
North Star's Sheldon Isom place second at 160 pounds.
Fremont won the meet. Waverly was third and North Star was sixth.
