The Lincoln Northeast boys basketball team snapped a 27-game losing streak spanning back to the 2016-17 season with a 54-52 victory Friday at North Platte.

The Rockets stopped back-to-back in-bounds plays underneath North Platte's basket before Carson Busch hit a free throw with four seconds left to put his team up two. 

Busch scored a game-high 19 points, and Pierce Bazil added 11.

"It's really rewarding for our guys," Northeast coach Monte Ritchie said. "They've worked so hard in the offseason and were hungry to get a win."

Kiya Kramer had 14 points for North Platte.

Lincoln Lutheran 58, Lincoln Christian 54: The Warriors knocked off Class C-1 No. 1 Lincoln Christian behind the scoring of Isaac McCoy and the defense against the Crusaders' Justin Bubak. Bubak was held to five points, far below his season average, and was in foul trouble most of the game at Lincoln Christian.

"We were fortunate to get him a few early," Lutheran coach Jason Glines said. "That had a big impact."

Lincoln Lutheran held the Crusaders to six fourth-quarter points.

"We played to our standard and didn't worry about the scoreboard," Glines said. "We didn't worry about the rivalry or the team we were playing, just making plays."

Papillion-La Vista South 58, Lincoln Southwest 43: Frazzie Wynn led the Silver Hawks with 11 points in the loss at Southwest. Papillion-La Vista South led by nine at the half and pushed forward in the second 16 minutes.

Wahoo 72, Wayne 64: Winston Cook scored 39 points to lead Wahoo.


Lincoln High 67, Lincoln North Star 48: NaTayah Wilson scored 20 points, Nyayongah Gony had 18 and Kaysia Woods added 13 to lead the Class A No. 5 Links.

Lincoln Southwest 55, Papillion-La Vista South 31: The Silver Hawks held the Titans to two points in the third quarter to build a 13-point lead heading into the fourth. Raegen Wells scored 13 to lead the Silver Hawks.

Lincoln Northeast 50, North Platte 47: Azaiya Trainor led the Rockets with 18 points and McKenna Minter had 15 as Northeast rallied from down 14 after the first quarter.

Lincoln Christian 59, Lincoln Lutheran 34: Lincoln Christian pulled away with an 18-6 third quarter, and Barrett Power scored eight of her 16 points in the period. Emmie Hollenbeck added 11 points. Gretchen Moll had 10 points for Lutheran.

Wahoo 72, Wayne 21: Hallie Reeves netted 18 points and passed the 1,000-point mark for Wahoo.


Lincoln High 48, North Platte 28: Isaiah Alford picked up his 100th career win for the Links when he pinned North Platte's Gavyn Brauer 2:46 into their 170-pound match. Lincoln High got four pins and two forfeits to close out the dual and win after trailing 28-12 at the halfway point. George Atkins, Drake Krogh and Garrett Hoagland all picked up falls for Lincoln High.

Lincoln Christian 36, Lincoln Lutheran 11: The Crusader winners included Dylan Svoboda (170), Hunter Schwaninger (220), Isaac Wegrzyn (120), Eli Wegrzyn (126), Halim Abdullodzhanov (145).
