Lincoln Christian opened the contest against Columbus Scotus with a 16-0 run and cruised to a big home win Friday 78-32.

Justin Bubak scored 19 points and reached 1,000 career points during the game. Caleb Canfield had 16, and Creighton Kuszak finished with 10 for the Crusaders.

Norfolk 61, Lincoln North Star 56: Norfolk got hot in the third quarter, outscoring the Gators 26-13 and missing only two shots in the period. The Panthers then slowed the pace in the fourth quarter and outscored North Star 8-4. Cameron Eisenhauer scored 21 points to lead Norfolk, and Donovan Williams had a game-high 32 for North Star with six three-pointers.

Kearney 60, Lincoln Northeast 48: Carson Schwarz had 17 points to lead Kearney past the Rockets. Shiloh Robinson also chipped in 12 for the Bearcats. Carson Busch had 14 for Lincoln Northeast.

Lincoln Lutheran 59, Lourdes CC 36: Josh Puelz had 21 points to lead Lincoln Lutheran to a rout of Lourdes CC as the Warriors improved to 11-2.

Girls basketball

En route to its first MUDECAS girls title since 2012, the Sterling Jets defeated the Nos. 2, 3 and 4 teams in Class D-2. On Friday night at the City Auditorium in Beatrice, Sterling defeated Exeter-Milligan 55-26. 

The Lady Jets jumped out to a 26-13 lead in the first half and never looked back.

Lincoln Christian 45, Columbus Scotus 32: Makylee Ailes led the Crusaders with 17 points. Allyson Korte chipped in 15 for Lincoln Christian. The Crusaders led 14-4 after one quarter.

Lincoln Northeast 53, Kearney 42: The Rockets pulled away with a 17-point third quarter and got balanced scoring, with all seven scorers getting at least six points. McKenna Minter led the way with 12, and Jenna Wendelin added 11. Alexis Mishou led Kearney with 16 points.

Norfolk 48, Lincoln North Star 40: Gabby Ruth and Anden Baumann both scored 13 points to lead Norfolk. North Star led 32-31 into the fourth quarter, but a 17-8 fourth quarter in favor of the Panthers sealed the game.

Lourdes CC 49, Lincoln Lutheran Lutheran 26: Macey Allgood led all scorers with 14 points as the Knights rolled.
