Former Lincoln Northeast all-stater Malcolm Whitlow, who transferred to Carrollwood Day School in Tampa, Florida for his junior and senior seasons, has committed to Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Former Lincoln Northeast all-state guard Malcolm Whitlow will be staying in Florida for his college basketball career.

Whitlow, who has spent his junior and senior years at Carrollwood Day School in Tampa, has committed to play at Eckerd College beginning next season. He made the announcement on Twitter Sunday evening.

Eckerd, an NCAA Division II school in St. Petersburg, reached the Sweet 16 of the national tournament in 2018 and finished 19-10 this past season.

The 6-foot-1 Whitlow averaged 29.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game in his junior and senior years combined at Carrollwood, earning first-team all-Hillsborough County (greater Tampa area) honors both seasons.

The first-team all-city selection and second-team Class A all-stater averaged 22.1 points per game as a sophomore at Northeast two years ago before leaving to play for former Nebraska Director of Operations Teddy Owens at Carrollwood. Owens coached this past season at Holland Hall in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
