Omaha South vs. Omaha Central, 3.09

Omaha Central's John Tonje (1) shoots against Omaha South's Jay Saunders in the Class A championship at the boys state basketball tournament Saturday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Omaha Central senior standout John Tonje has committed to play his college basketball at Colorado State. He made the announcement on Twitter late Monday night.

The 6-foot-5 guard was the leading scorer in Class A this season, averaging 23.1 points per game in propelling the Eagles to the state championship game on Saturday. He also averaged 6.1 rebounds per game, shot 50 percent from the field, 38 percent from beyond the three-point line and 82 percent at the free-throw stripe.

Tonje, who picked up the Colorado State scholarship offer last week, chose the Rams over Omaha.
