2. Omaha Central (14-5) | 2

3. Kearney (14-4) | 3

4. Omaha Westside (11-4) | 7

5. Creighton Prep (15-3) | 4

10. Omaha Bryan (9-7) | 8

Contenders: Elkhorn South, Lincoln High, Papillion-La Vista South, Lincoln North Star, Omaha North.

Comments: The parity in Class A was never more evident than it was last week. Lincoln High and Papillion-La Vista South both exit after losses to Elkhorn South and Omaha North, respectively. Westside’s wins over Creighton Prep and Omaha South have launched the Warriors into the top five after being unrated just two weeks ago. Bryan takes a slight hit for a loss to Lincoln Southwest, while Millard North re-enters after its win over Bryan. Millard West’s wins over Omaha Bryan and Elkhorn South the last two weeks vault the Wildcats into the ratings.

2. Aurora (17-1) | 3

3. Omaha Roncalli (14-2) | 2

4. Mount Michael (13-5) | 4

9. Bennington (13-3) | 9

10. Norris (6-10) | -

Contenders: Alliance, Lexington, Blair, North Platte, Elkhorn.

Comments: The ratings do not account for Monday’s match-up between Lincoln Pius X and Omaha Skutt. Aurora is rewarded for winning the Central Conference Tournament for the fourth straight year, defeating Seward and York on its way to the title. Elkhorn is gone after a first-round loss to Waverly in the Eastern Midlands Conference tournament. Norris, the EMC tournament runner-up to Bennington, enters after posting wins over York, Blair and Class A Gretna the past two weeks. Norris started the season 1-8 (five losses by five points or less), but the Titans are 5-2 in their last seven games, the only setbacks coming to Bennington.

The conference tournaments promise to disrupt things even more this week.
