Lincoln Southeast came from behind to take down Papillion-La Vista South 14-11 Saturday afternoon at the Monarch Invitational in Papillion.
The two teams combined for 11 extra-base hits, six of them doubles by Lincoln Southeast, in the contest.
The Knights plated 11 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, 10 of them coming with two outs. Alex Duncan had the big hit in the inning, a three-RBI double, to give Southeast an 8-6 lead.
Kansas Relays: Superior's Kalynn Meyer wins the girls discus at the Kansas Relays with a meet record of 174-2. The Husker volleyball commit's personal best is 175-7, good for second on the all-time Nebraska charts. Millard North's Kevin Shubert placed second in the boy's shot put with a throw of 61-¼. Kearney's Elle Dahlgren finished in third place, with a time of 14.86 seconds, in the 100 meter hurdles.
Lincoln High 8, Omaha North 1: Julian Goertzen-Noriega scored two goals for Lincoln High, while Pla Plot Soe dished out four assists at the Omaha North Invitational. The Links scored seven goals in the first half against the Vikings. Seven players netted goals for Lincoln High in the contest. Owen Thompson collected the win in goal.
Lincoln High 5, Omaha Northwest 1: Pla Plot Soe scored twice, and Walfred Salazar and Randy Izaguirre each had a goal and an assist as the Links won the Omaha North invite. Owen Thompson got the win in goal.
Fremont Invite: Lincoln Southeast won the invitational Saturday behind titles at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, and No. 2 doubles. Camilia Ibrahimova went 4-0 in the pool-play portion of the tournament, and then beat Lincoln High's Emma Bergmeyer in the finals 8-0. The Knights' Katie Whitehead and Caroline Miller won No. 1 doubles over Lincoln High's Avery Smith and Baylor Pope 8-0 as well. The Links finished in second place with 51 points, behind Lincoln Southeast's 59. Lincoln Northeast took ninth place out of 10 teams with 15 points in the tournament.
