BROOKLYN, N.Y. (AP) -- Ranfy Adon hit a two-run homer in the third inning, leading the Brooklyn Cyclones to a 5-4 win over the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in the first game of a doubleheader on Friday.

The home run by Adon gave the Cyclones a 5-4 lead and capped a five-run inning for Brooklyn. Earlier in the inning, Branden Fryman and Wilmer Reyes hit RBI singles.

Mahoning Valley went up 4-0 early behind a two-run triple by Korey Holland in the second inning.

Brooklyn right-hander Jaison Vilera (2-3) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing four runs on just two hits over six innings. Opposing starter Carlos Vargas (1-2) took the loss in the New York-Penn League game after giving up five runs and five hits over six innings.
