Once you’ve finished designing the bedrooms in your dream home, it’s time to shift your focus to the bathrooms.
A ranch home typically has two bathrooms on the main floor, one in the mater bedroom and once near the kids bedrooms. However, I recommend you add another half-bath on the main level for guests, as this will help keep your other bathrooms private – no one running in saying they need to use the bathroom or brush their hair!
Although this will change the layout of your house, the extra bathroom will increase the overall value of your home. This is an investment you won’t regret when it comes time to sell your house.
When designing the layout of each bathroom, consider creating a space separate from other parts of the room for the shower and sink. In addition to giving each functional space its own identity, having the shower separate from the main bathroom space also allows multiple people to use the room at the same time. When one person is showering in the morning, another person can be brushing their teeth at the sink.
Next week we’ll focus on creating the master bathroom of your dreams.
