The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Wildlife Club is seeking nominations for its Howard L. Wiegers Nebraska Outstanding Wildlife Conservation Award.
The annual award, established in 1966 and co-sponsored by the Wildlife Club and the Lincoln Journal Star, honors a recipient who has made outstanding contributions to the conservation of wildlife in Nebraska.
The award is named after a former UNL professor who is credited with founding the fisheries and wildlife major at the school.
Deadline for nominations is March 1. Nominations should include information on wildlife conservation efforts, including time donated to specific projects.
