Dear Gov. Pete Ricketts -- come on with your public veto of gender-neutral terms on marriage licenses. This is 2019, not 1988, when I moved out of Nebraska to Minnesota to find a place to live where I was welcomed.
I moved back to Nebraska in 2001, and I assure you most Nebraskans I live and work with accept me as a contributing member of society. Businesses certainly accept my money readily. You are out of place and time.
Next year, I hope this bill comes back to your desk and you think about how much brain drain you want for Nebraska in a highly mobile society.
I am a happily married bride to a bride. Or a spouse to a spouse, but not Party A to Party B.
