Snow plow

A man with a shovel watches as a plow drives by pushing the snow towards the curb on S. 17th St. near Garfield St. on February 2, 2016.

I believe Lincoln needs better clearing of city streets. For those of us who have longer commutes to work, it is very important for us to have clear streets.

Not treating streets before snow or freezing rain is irresponsible. By the time the city gets to working on the streets once the rain has stopped, it is already too late. While some people may not like the salt on the streets, it helps with fighting the thick layers of ice that may coat the streets the next morning.

All we ask for is the city to pay attention and get ahead of the weather instead of playing catch-up after the weather has already come and gone.
