President Donald Trump speaks to reporters Saturday on the South Lawn of the White House, before boarding Marine One for the trip to Camp David in Maryland.

What atrocious act must Donald Trump commit before conservative supporters abandon him? It seems like not a day goes by that he does not do something that defies logic and common sense.

During the D-Day commemoration, he chose to attack his political opponents with the grave markers of fallen soldiers in the background. During his ABC interview, he stated he would accept information about political rivals from a foreign country -- and then said the FBI director was wrong saying such contact should be reported to the FBI.

He broadly hinted that Iran was responsible for the 9/11 attacks. He has also stated he believes Iran was responsible for the attacks on the Saudi ships in the Gulf of Oman. And, now the U.S. is sending 1,000 troops to the Middle East. He apparently wants to go to war with Iran.

Yet, his so-called "base" still supports him.

The group of his fans that I can't understand at all are the evangelical Christians. Franklin Graham, Jim Bakker, et al proclaiming that God sent Donald Trump to save us all. I even saw one guy saying that in numerology his name does mean Messiah.

I can somewhat understand people voting for him because he was perceived as being the lesser of two evils. What I cannot understand is why they still support him.
