I listen to news pouring in about the inhumane atrocities committed by the Trump regime every day, and it makes me angrier than I have ever been before.
However, I know I can do nothing to stop it. Trump is using executive orders to behave as a dictator, knowing that the courts move too slowly to even stand in his way.
And what do we hear? Cheers and applause from his loyal followers.
Democrats have done nothing except make veiled threats of impeachment, knowing that such a thing would be stopped by the Senate. Meanwhile, we have to hear about concentration camps where children are sent to rot.
What can any sane person do to oppose this villain and his army of followers? Voting, protests, letters, e-mails, phone calls? None of that ever seems to work.
We have a collective case of alarm fatigue. Every few months, we wince at the story of another child dying in Camp Trump before covering our eyes and repeating the mantra, "If I can’t see it, then it isn’t there." We can do nothing while our leadership makes a demon out of our country on the world stage.
We have simply forgotten how to care.
