E.A. Kral, whose research includes Nebraska centenarians, credits Ella Winkelmann Schuler as the oldest living Nebraskan because she was born near Fontanelle and lived in Nebraska until 1923 when she moved to Denver. She later moved to Topeka, Kan., where she now lives.
