The Lincoln Senior Men's Golf League Senior Fun Days at Woodland Hills have always been marked by great course conditions, a friendly staff, and wonderful weather.
Unfortunately, there was more upheaval at the start of this year’s mixer event because of an unusual number of no-shows and cancellations that placed undue pressure on the Fun Day manager John Tritt, who had to quickly account for new groups and re-alignment needs. The league will be addressing this issue to alleviate the problem for future events.
The Scramble format added a nice wrinkle by requiring all groups to use a tee shot from each member on the four par-3 holes. Flag prizes were awarded on No. 9 and No. 18 for the longest putt, which were won by Bob McCollough and Larry Peach, respectively. The league’s next Fun Day won’t be held until Aug. 24 as a mixer at both Holmes and Mahoney.
