ASHLAND - The Lincoln Senior Men's Golf League Fun Day, held July 10 at Iron Horse Golf Club, was a test of every member as the temperatures got to the mid-90s.
As usual, the course was in great condition, and Brian Kuta’s staff made it a smooth event. The Shamble format utilized 60% of each player's handicap. After the best tee shot was chosen from the group everyone played their own ball and the two best net scores were taken on each hole.
Flights A and B had 10 teams while C had 9 four-man teams to comprise a field of 114 golfers. Since it was a “mixer” the groups were computer-generated, combining low and high handicap players in equal total handicaps through all three flights.
