VNA soccer team with shoes for Haitian kids

VNA soccer team members with shoes collected for kids in Haiti.

The 2005 (team members' birth year) Boys Villarreal Nebraska Academy soccer team finished third in the state division and only allowed four goals scored against it during the fall 2018 season. But most importantly, the team led a shoe drive to collect new or gently used shoes for kids in Haiti.

The VNA team collected shoes individually, and the club joined in the collection efforts for a total of 220 pairs of shoes donated. The players chose this community effort to help make the world a better place and positively impact another child.

These players supported another organization's mission trip planned for Haiti by collecting shoes for the kids. These shoes will be taken and given to school children who walk across difficult terrain to get an education. This is just one example of a positive project completed by one group of VNA soccer players. Each team takes on its own initiative, and the club also takes on community outreach opportunities throughout the year.

VNA's mission is to have a positive impact in the community by offering outstanding soccer growth opportunities and personal development. VNA is an affiliated soccer academy of Villarreal C.F. Jorge A. Sambataro, director of coaching for VNA, is a professionally licensed coach and former professional player who partners directly with the coaching staff with Villarreal C.F. VNA has offered opportunities for local soccer players to travel to Spain and train directly with the professional team, Villarreal C.F.
