A family event in the West A neighborhood is coming to Roper Elementary School next weekend.
The free West A Neighborhood Health Fair is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 13 at Roper School, 2323 S. Coddington Ave.
Area residents are invited to visit interactive booths about health, nutrition, exercise, safety and other fun topics. Kids will have fun going through the Lincoln Fire and Rescue Smoke House, getting a balloon animal from Shades the Clown and shaking hands with Homer, the Lincoln Saltdogs mascot.
The Roper Elementary School lunchroom and gym will be filled with vendors and demonstrations:
• Try Zumba exercise or Wii Dance;
• Check out the healthy recipes and learn how to shop the Guiding Stars Program at Russ's Market;
• Meet and greet the new health care professionals in the West A neighborhood; and
• Enter your name in a drawing for a chance to win an Apple IPad and other give-aways.
