The Haymarket Theatre, 803 Q St., will present “Anne & Emmett,” written by civil and human rights advocate Janet Langhart Cohen, beginning Nov. 21.

Jessie Tidball starts as Anne Frank, a 13-year-old Jewish girl whose diary provided a gripping perspective of the Holocaust. Devon Tate and Landon Beard star as Emmett Till, the 14-year-old African-American boy whose brutal murder in the South galvanized the American civil rights movement.

The cast also includes Dave Landis, Kwakiutl Dreher and Jordan Deffenbaugh and is directed by Bobby Bonaventura.

Performances are 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21-23, Nov. 29-30 and Dec. 5-7, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1. Admission is $15; students and seniors, $12.

Janet Langhart Cohen will attend the opening night gala Nov. 21. The event Nov. 21 is complete with food and drink provided by Brix & Stone and is priced at $60 per single, $100 per couple, with all proceeds to benefit the Anne & Emmett LPS tour.
