PAPILLION - Papillion has become a favorite stop for the Lincoln Senior Men's Golf League Fun Days with Tara Hills and Eagle Hills providing a quality golf experience for a great price.
The 4-Man Variable Shamble event Oct. 4 provided a slightly different format as 60% of each player's handicap was used; one net score was used on the nine easiest holes and two scores used on the nine hardest holes. The extended tees for the A flight certainly made the course more challenging, yet the scores were as low as previous outings for all flights.
Pin prizes were awarded on holes 3, 8, 11, and 15. The closest first shot on No. 3 was Doc Ellis; he also had the longest putt on No. 8. Gary DeBoer had the longest putt on No. 11, and Marv McMichael had the closest first shot on No. 15.
The next event was a 4-Man Scramble held Oct. 9 at Hillcrest Country Club.
