Gamma Delta Chapter of ESA recently presented Distinguished Achievement Awards to two Lincoln residents for their volunteerism.

One honoree is Kathleen Higley, who volunteers at Everett Elementary School in the Family Literacy Program, teaching women to speak English. Higley said, “The women have succeeded in learning more English, and I have learned so much from them.”

The second award was presented to Gene Schoeppner, a Salvation Army volunteer for four years. Schoeppner volunteers for SATERN (Salvation Army Team Emergency Radio Network). He serves on the Emergency Disaster Team, drives the mobile canteen, volunteers in the food pantry, repairs bells used for the kettle campaign during Christmas and completes other errands.

President Dora Dill presented each honoree with a Certificate of Achievement and a congratulatory card from the Gamma Delta Chapter.
