Home Instead Senior Care hosted the first Senior Soiree -- A Celebration for Seniors event Sept. 7 at the IBEW Banquet Hall in southwest Lincoln.
Attendees enjoyed hearty appetizers prepared by the Knolls Retirement Community (co-sponsor) and desserts provided by Old Cheney Rehabilitation (co-sponsor), were entertained by the Omaha Dancing Grannies and inspired by the first Inspiring Senior Awards presented to Jack Botts and Dorothy Matzke for their contributions to their community and their example of active aging.
The evening culminated with open dancing to favorite big band and rock and roll music from the '30s, '40s and '50s.
Other co-sponsors were Hospice Community Care, Bridge to Better Living, Angels Care Home Health, Melanie with Red Door Realty, Hillcrest Firethorn and Myndful Eye Images.
