Bellevue resident Nicholas Walker wins $10,000 thanks to his love for mayonnaise.
Few people have expressed their love for a condiment in a way that results in a billboard dedication and a five-figure cash prize.
Bellevue resident Nicholas Walker is now among that small group.
Walker, 21, recently won Kraft Foods’ national “Mayodorsement” challenge. Contestants were asked to post a video about their love for mayonnaise on Instagram or Twitter using #kraftmayodorsement and #contest.

Bellevue resident Nicholas Walker, 21, recently won Kraft Foods’ national “Mayodorsement” challenge, which asked people to post a video about their love for mayonnaise on social media.
As part of his prize, Walker won bragging rights and $10,000. Billboards touting his win were placed in various U.S. cities, including one at Nebraska 370 and 42nd Street in Bellevue.
“A dry sandwich is gross,” said Walker, who loves a good egg salad sandwich. “It has to have mayo on it to be good.”

The University of Nebraska at Omaha senior is studying mathematics with a concentration in education. He hopes to become a math teacher at his former high school, Bellevue East.
As a hobby, he livestreams on the social media site Twitch. He often has been referred to as “Mayo Boy” because of a mispronunciation of his Twitch user name, MenAc3.
"People would split it and call me Men Ace (which sounds like mayonnaise), and one day I was venting and said 'I am not a jar of mayonnaise.' And Mayo Boy stuck from there," he said.
Friends brought the Kraft contest to Walker’s attention and encouraged him to enter.

He dove into the challenge with gusto.
“I have two friends who make music, and I asked them to help me make a rap song for the contest,” Walker said. “The song is called ‘Dripping With the Mayo.’”
The two-minute video, which can be seen on Walker’s Twitter page (twitter.com/MenAc3_), features Walker and his co-writers Noah Bollow and Andre Stapleton singing and dancing, all while holding large jars of Kraft Mayonnaise. The song also can now be found on iTunes and Spotify.
Hundreds of entries eventually were narrowed down to eight, Walker said. From there, people could vote via social media for their favorite entry. On his livestream, Walker encouraged people to vote for him, telling viewers he would eat an entire jar of mayonnaise live on his show and, if he won, would take a bath in mayo.
Walker said he didn’t know how many votes he had in the end, but he is happy he won. He has since made good on his promise to eat the jar of mayonnaise.
“It was about two weeks before I could eat mayo again after that, but now I’m fine,” Walker said. “When the money comes in, I have to go buy a pool and fill it with mayo for (the bath).”
He intends to split the prize money with his video co-stars, Bollow and Stapleton.
