Two teens arrested after 17-year-old boy killed in Bellevue shooting

BELLEVUE — Police have arrested two teens in connection to the fatal shooting of a teenager in Bellevue.

The shooting happened Monday afternoon at a home on West 31st Avenue, the Bellevue Police Department said. A caller to 911 reported the shooting and said that CPR was being performed on the 17-year-old male victim.

Arriving officers found the teen, Kalani Zalopany, with a gunshot wound and unresponsive. Zalopany, a student at Bellevue East High School, was declared dead at the scene.

Bellevue Police said Tuesday afternoon that two suspects — Davion Snyder, 18, and a 16-year-old boy whose name wasn't released — had been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit a felony and robbery.

Police have asked anyone with information on the shooting to contact Sarpy County Crime Stoppers.
