OMAHA -- A 32-year-old Nebraska woman has been sentenced to 30 months' probation for her fake marriage to a man who was living in the country illegally.

U.S. Attorney Deborah Gilg said Crystal Foster was sentenced for harboring Ibrahim Matari, whom she married in 2009 and tried to have his citizenship status changed.

Stories that Foster and Matari told investigators were inconsistent, Gilg said in a news release, and officials determined he already was married to another woman and had stayed in the country after his student visa expired.

Matari, who was born in Kuwait, was sentenced last month to time served and deported.
