GRAND ISLAND — Authorities say a motorcyclist died after colliding with a car during a pursuit by state troopers on the west side of Grand Island.

The Nebraska State Patrol said in a news release that troopers tried to pull over the motorcyclist, identified as Matthew Bradshaw, at about 12:10 a.m. Wednesday for going 80 mph in a 50 mph zone. He sped away and exceeded more than 100 mph during what the patrol says was a 5-minute chase.
