SCOTTSBLUFF — A man who drowned in Lake Minatare hit his head before falling from a boat.

Scotts Bluff County Attorney Doug Warner confirmed Chris Miller, 37, of Mitchell died of drowning but the head injury contributed to his death.

Miller was reported missing last Sunday near a swimmer's beach. Authorities have said he was riding in a boat when he stood up and fell overboard. Dive crews searched for him for three days but were unable to locate him. His body was pulled from the water Thursday.

An autopsy was done Friday. Warner found that Miller hit his head on a propeller on the boat's motor as he fell and was knocked unconscious.
