Inmate dies at Tecumseh State Correctional Institution

An inmate serving a life sentence died Monday morning at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution, according to the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. 

Douglas Peverill, 88, who was sentenced to life in 1986 for first-degree murder and manslaughter, died Monday at about 11:25 a.m.

Peverill had been under treatment for a medical condition. His cause of death is still unknown.

A grand jury will review the case.
