A paramedic/firefighter from Lincoln is back home from Washington, D.C., after providing medical support during the state funeral for former President George H.W. Bush.
Robert Treasure is a member of the National Disaster Medical System’s Disaster Medical Assistance Team.
As the public paid its respect, the team stood ready to provide medical care to the thousands of people from around the nation attending the event.
There are more than 6,000 team members organized in 70 response teams. Providing medical care during emergencies and special events, such as Bush's funeral, can overwhelm local and state resources.
