Rep. Jeff Fortenberry endorsed Carly Fiorina's bid for the Republican presidential nomination Thursday and will serve as a co-chair of her Nebraska campaign.
"Carly is clear, she is honest, and she is strong," Fortenberry said.
"With America facing economic malaise, political dysfunction and cultural challenges, I am confident that Carly will rebuild our economy, repurpose our government and renew America."
Joining the six-term Lincoln congressman as Nebraska co-chairs are Howard Hawks and Rhonda Hawks of Omaha.
Howard Hawks, a University of Nebraska regent, is founder and chairman of Tenaska Inc. Rhonda Hawks is president of The Hawks Foundation.
"As the chief executive officer of a Fortune 50 company, Carly has set a path and made tough decisions in the face of opposition," Howard Hawks said. "Carly shares our vision of an America that leads from a position of strength, international reliability and prosperity."
Rhonda Hawks said Fiorina is the best choice for a nation that's "at a critical crossroads."
