The last day to register to vote for the May 7 Lincoln general election is Friday, but voters must register in person.

The office is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday. In addition, voters can register from 4-6 p.m. Friday at the Walt Branch Library, 6701 S. 14th St., or Eiseley Branch Library, 1530 Superior St.

The date to register online or mail in a form have passed.

Residents who will be 18 on or before Nov. 5, have moved, changed their name, or want to change their political party affiliation must do so by Friday in order for the registration to be effective.

Voters in May will choose a new Lincoln mayor and decide whether to issue bonds for stormwater projects. Four City Council races and three school board seats are also on the ballot.
