The public is invited to help with landscaping at the Bea Richmond Park on the southeast corner of 27th and Holdrege streets from 8-11 a.m. today, Sept. 15.

Lincoln Parks and Recreation staff will work with volunteers to mulch garden beds and plant new plants. Parking is available at Pentzer Park, 26th and Potter streets.

Registration is not required, but volunteers may register by visiting parks.lincoln.ne.gov/volunteer. New volunteers are asked to complete the volunteer application form at the site.

Supplies will be provided. Participants should dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and bring garden gloves. If weather causes a postponement, registered participants will be notified of the rain date.

The event is part of the 2018 VIP (Volunteer in Parks) Saturday series. The next planned VIP event is Oct. 20, from 8-11 a.m., to remove volunteer trees within long-grass areas in Roper East Park.
