Aging Partner's Fitness Center hours of operation — 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Please note services available are subject to change due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. Please call to check on our status or request to be placed on our email contact list so we can keep you updated.

During the pandemic, the fitness center will be operating on appointments only. Please call to make an appointment for the fitness center. This will be necessary while health directives related to social distancing and limits on the amount of people gathering are in place.

All ages are welcome at the fitness center. Cardio equipment, strength training equipment, free weights, balance and other exercise aids are available. There is a $10 monthly suggested contribution for age 60 and over and family caregivers of any age. A $15 fee is required for under age 60. A certified personal trainer is available at no additional cost by appointment only.

For most Health and Fitness classes, there is a $4 per class suggested contribution for age 60 and over and family caregivers of any age. A $5 per class fee for under age 60 is required. Punch cards are available. Registration is required for all classes by calling 402-441-7575. Please register early as classes that do not have sufficient enrollment will be canceled.

Online Aging Partners Health and Fitness Classes via Zoom

We will continue to offer some of our health and fitness classes online.

Zoom classes will open 15 minutes before and after our scheduled online classes to allow for socialization, sharing and questions from students.

Contributions are welcome and can be mailed in. Suggested amounts are $4 for age 60 and over and family caregivers of any age; $5 for under age 60, for classes meeting one time per week. A suggested donation of $2 to $3 for classes meeting two times per week. Punch cards are available. Your contributions enable us to continue offering the online classes.

Classes that will be offered via Zoom include Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance, Qigong, Dance for Life, Chair Yoga and a new class, Movement and Strength with Fun in Between.

Please call 402-441-7575 to register for your Zoom classes during the months of May and June. You will be sent information about how to access Zoom and the specific classes you are interested in. Prior to the classes, you will need to download the Zoom app on your device. You will need to register in order to receive the access code to enter a class.


The following classes are open to join at any time during the session, but registration is still required.

Qigong Refresh and Recharge (12-week sessions)

* 10-11 a.m. Mondays through July 26 (no classes May 31 and July 5).

* 2-3 p.m. Thursdays through June 24.

This ancient meditative practice focuses on slow, gentle movements which help to relieve aching muscles and stiff joints, improve balance, flexibility and increase energy. Movements begin from a chair, move to standing forms, closing with seated stretches and stimulating breath exercises. This class is appropriate for individuals at all levels of ability.

Dance for Life (12-week sessions)

* 2-3 p.m. Mondays through July 26 (no classes May 31 and July 5).

* 10-11 a.m. Wednesdays through June 23.

Each class focuses on balance, strength and cardio health through a unique combination of dance steps done to popular oldies music. Synchronized movements isolate and strengthen muscle groups, increase heart rate and improve core stability. Participants warm up from the chair, move to standing, transition to dance then cool down with standing and seated movements.

Movement and Strength with Fun in Between (new class 12-week session) — 2:30-3:15 p.m. Tuesdays through June 29. Designed to be a fun, fit-filled 45-minute class consisting of a warmup, followed by two low-impact aerobics songs and two strength sets repeated until cool down.

Chair Yoga — 12:30-1:30 p.m. Fridays through July 2. Chair yoga is one of the gentlest forms of yoga available. It is a unique style that adapts yoga positions and poses through creative use of a chair. Poses are done seated or the chair is used for support during standing and balance poses. Emphasis will be on breathing, balance and taking things at your own pace. Chair yoga is suitable for all ages, fitness levels and physical conditions. Beginners welcome.

Foot Clinics and Senior Health Promotion Services

Aging Partners Foot Clinics and UNMC Senior Health Promotion Services are being held at temporary locations due to COVID-19 and will be by appointment only during the months of May and June. This is to assure that all social distancing and sanitation guidelines are followed. Please call 402-441-7506 to make an appointment for clinic services. Please note: Foot clinics are subject to cancellation or changes at any time due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Services available to people age 60 and over include comprehensive foot care, blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol screenings, osteoporosis screenings and health education (no ear care). $15 suggested contribution will help these services continue. Free Online Environmental Health Education Programs presented by Lincoln Lancaster County Health Department

Join us for practical information about environmental health issues that affect us all. Environmental health is the branch of public health that focuses on the relationships between people and their environment — water, air and waste. It is a dimension of wellness that affects every person every day.

* Safe Cleaning Products — 10-11 a.m. June 9. In the last year we have been cleaning more than ever, but it is important to select cleaning products that contribute to our overall health and the health of the environment. This session will introduce less toxic alternatives that can be purchased or made from everyday ingredients.


*Stepping On: Building Confidence & Reducing Falls — 1:30-3:30 p.m. Fridays through June 11. $50, Bryan LifePointe members; $75, nonmembers. Learn balance and strength exercises, ways to keep from falling and how to eliminate fall hazards. * Strength Training for Women — 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through June 10. * What can I do to keep my bones healthy? — 6:30-7:30 p.m. June 9. Your bones are always changing, but most people reach their peak bone density around age 30. Intermediate Genealogy via Zoom — 6:30-8:30 p.m. May 17 and May 24, $39. Have you watched “Finding Your Roots” and wondered about your own family? This is the best time to trace your family tree. Bring what you can about your family and learn the basics.

Online Grocery Shopping — 5:30-7:30 p.m. May 26, $19. Live online Zoom. Ordering groceries online is all the craze. Learn how to set up an account and use your phone or computer to order your groceries online to be picked up or delivered to your home.

Sugar Cookie Fun — 9 a.m.-noon June 12, $39. Discover how to make these versatile cookies and how to prepare smooth, royal icing for impressive decorating.

Treasure Hunting 101 — 9 a.m.-noon. June 19. $29. Discover how to hunt for treasure in your own hometown. A seasoned treasure hunter will help you determine locations to hunt, types of treasures and how to care for them, and what to do with them.

Truly Mexican: Pozole — 9 a.m.-noon. May 22, $30. Learn how to make chicken pozole with homemade corn tortillas, spicy black beans and flan for dessert.

Travel along to St. Paul to visit the Museum of Nebraska Major League Baseball. The museum features exhibits about the careers of major league players, with connections to Nebraska. Then we'll travel to Grand Island and see a live show "Alexander: Baseball Legend," an original musical based on the life and career of Nebraska Hall of Fame pitcher Grover Cleveland Alexander. The pandemic has made changes to how LLCGS can achieve some of its stated purposes as an organization. As a result, annual membership dues for renewal and joining LLCGS are being waived through August 31. Current members will be automatically renewed during this time at no cost to you.
