The Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department invites the public to an open house Wednesday to learn about Nebraska’s eastern saline wetlands and the Marsh Wren wetland conservation project.

The event is 3-7 p.m. at the Marsh Wren Community Wetland Area near North 40th Street and Arbor Road. Directions are available at parks.lincoln.ne.gov on the Saline Wetlands homepage.

Those attending will learn about the Saline Wetland Conservation Partnership, Marsh Wren Wetland Area improvements, saline wetland biology, monarch butterfly tagging, and other efforts to conserve Nebraska’s natural resources.

Representatives of the following organizations will be available to discuss ideas and answer questions: Parks and Recreation Department, the Nebraska Environmental Trust, Lower Platte South Natural Resources District, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and the Nebraska Chapter of Pheasants Forever Inc.
