Work zone signs

New road signs will implore motorists to stay off their cellphones while driving in work zones.

North 33rd Street, between Cornhusker Highway and Madison Avenue, will close Monday for railroad crossing and track work.

Traffic will be directed to North 48th Street, via Cornhusker Highway or Leighton Avenue.

The city is working with BNSF to work on the track reliability and improve safety features.

BNSF will upgrade the tracks and replace concrete panels that separate the rails, while the city will repair the street leading to the crossing.
